The War Hasn’t Yet Started by Mikhail Durnenkov

‘The War Hasn’t Yet Started’ by Mikhail Durnenkov is one of four plays translated by Noah Birksted-Breen as part of his practice-based PhD at Queen Mary University of London. The title of Noah’s PhD – completed in 2017 – was ‘Alternative Voices in an Acquiescent Society: Translating the New Wave of Russian Playwrights (2000-2014)’. Sputnik is delighted that it is being produced by Theatre Royal Plymouth in London.

‘The War Hasn’t Yet Started’ was co-produced as a reading in 2014 by Theatre Royal Plymouth and the Frontline Club in London in association with Sputnik under the title: Power, Politics and Performance in January 2016.

Theatre Royal Plymouth also produced a successful version of ‘The War Hasn’t Yet Started’ in The Drum Theatre in Plymouth in 2016.
